How does a dentist qualify to be a My-Dentistry member?

It’s important to us that you have a great experience using our service. To help make it easier to understand our dentist screening process and how our service works, we’ve compiled this list of FAQs expressly for consumers.

We accept dentists onto our service only after they complete detailed applications and pass our rigorous screening process.

What is the My-Dentistry screening process?

MY-Dentistry provides the highest level of professional screening in the dental industry.  Our Quality Assurance department is dedicated to the initial screening and continued monitoring of member dentists, which includes, but is not limited to:

  • Verifying that member Dental Licenses are current and in good standing
  • Requiring certification for any claimed specialty or service
  • Maintaining detailed dentist information, including school attended, services offered, office hours and more
  • Validating claims of practice features such as the ability to treat young children or state-of the-art equipment
  • Surveying patients on an ongoing basis to assure the highest level of satisfaction and care
  • All of this is to uphold our promise to the public that we take every smile personally.
Do dentists pay to be a part of My-Dentistry?

Yes. Once a dentist passes our strict screening requirements, there is a monthly fee to maintain membership with our service.

What does it mean for the dentist’s license to be “in good standing”?

It means that the dentist’s license is valid and that the dentist is not currently subject to disciplinary action.

How can I get more dentist information?

We provide detailed dentist information about our members in step two of the search process. Once you start the search process, you can select the dentist you’re interested in and click on “continue” to learn about that dentist’s office hours, dental services, qualifications and office amenities. For more dentist information, just provide us with your first name and phone number and one of our friendly operators will contact you!

Can you help me find a dentist who accepts my insurance?

If you have dental insurance, we can help narrow down the dentists in your area who accept a variety of insurance plans. However, we recommend calling your new dental office to verify that your particular type of insurance is accepted.

Can you help me find a dentist who offers payment plans?

We can help you find a dentist in your area who accepts cash and/or credit card payments, as well as one who works with patient financing companies such as CareCredit®. Although many of our member dentists offer payment plans, we recommend calling your new dental office to verify all payment options.

Do you have members that work with low-income patients?

Our member dentists offer a variety of payment options designed to accommodate your level of income.

Do I have to make an appointment?

We understand that you may be a little apprehensive about making an appointment, but your dental health is important, and the best person to talk to about your dental health is a dentist.

What makes your service different from the Yellow Pages?

Not every dentist can become a member of My-Dentistry. Unlike the yellow pages, we screen and continually monitor our member dentists to ensure our promise to you. We also work to find you a dentist who matches your specific needs — whether you have a dental problem or need Saturday appointments or someone who works well with children.
